IRacing the New Normal

This year is off to A slow start for the Stade Motorsports Race team. Much like other venues and events, the racing season has been delayed to help narrow the spread of COVID-19. With the unexpected changes many racing venues and series have taken to IRacing to fill some of the void. Josh and the Stade Motorsports team have now competed in four virtual races against other members of the APC United Late model Series, one more scheduled for the time being.

For those of you who don't know, IRacing is a virtual, online form of racing. The competitors have pedals, a steering wheel and a shifter like they would driving a normal racecar. Josh comments on the feel of the car being much like a regular car but much more touchy. Josh has placed 9th, in the first three of the scheduled iracing events, and DNF in the 4th due to damage on the car caused by another car. We currently have one more iRacing event on the schedule for this Thursday May 6th at 8pm. You can watch it on the APC Series Youtube Channel, on the APC Series Facebook page, or on our Stade Motorsports page.

Overall, we are ready to start the regular race season, but there is no sight of that in the near future unfortunately. APC has issued a press release in regards to the series, and has advised that there are currently no changes to the schedule as things race still up in the air. Our first Scheduled race date was set for May 2nd and this has come and passed.
